The Toronto playgroup hosted the sixth Canadian Nationals at Braz's place in Ontario on May 28, 2011. The winners weren't announced anywhere else, as far as I know.

Ok, so the Canadian Championships had a very sad showing (with a boatload of last-minute cancellations from across the province, across the country and across the border) of 5 people. Sadly we were missing Tim Linden (which makes Braz's memory issues even more amusing that he asked the guy who didn't attend if he remembered more than him :) ) and Charles Soong, so we can't even brag that we faced the cream of crop since their absence was definitely felt.
But I can assure you the five proud Canadians who did show up came to PLAY. And between them, these 5 players hold multiple titles in Canada, Origins and Gen Con, so it was definitely a strong proving ground. And there were some hard fought games with some awesome plays and photo finishes. It was a great day of fun and really awesome Shadowfist playing.
So without further ado:
We played Swiss with no final, and after 4 rounds, the standings were:
5th Place - Troy Duffy - Pledged Lackey's mind was obviously more on seeing his friends he missed than securing the title :)
4th Place - Braz King - Something Braz & I seem to have in common - we usually seem to win it all handily, or sit in the basement looking up in envy - no middle ground :)
3rd Place - Kel McKay - Our prodigal son doth return, and reminded us all that he never lost the fire and that he is a strong competitor who still knows how to have fun doing it!
2nd Place - Colin Donaldson - He was the man to beat this day, not only was he a force to be reckoned with in Duelling, but he nearly walked away with the Championship as well, losing to the winner by a mere 3 tie-breaker points!
and the winner, and Canadian Champion for 2011...
Jeff "Cavebear" Stroud! - Once again reminding us how his years of Shadowfist experience, and all-around wise worldly ways, can be a irresistible force as the Wandering Teacher took us all to school!
Oh and the Duelling Champion was Colin!
That's my mini report and likely only report you'll see :)
