[posted 11 Aug 2006]

DexCon 9 (run by Double Exposure) was held in East Brunswick, New Jersey on Jul.12-16, 2006. Multiple Shadowfist events were scheduled (no National Championship, like last year) but most didn't run due to lack of participants. Bruce Neiger posted a brief report and winner's list on the Shadowfist Forum on Yahoogroups.

I was there the whole time. On Friday, we did manage to scrape up enough players for a dueling tournament (I won). Prior to that there was no turnout for 100 Names.

The only ones who showed up for the multi player Final brawl event were Joshua and I (and Paul G, who was to run it)... We agreed that we see enough of each other at the NYC PG, and so went on to other things. I stuck my head in to see if there would be a Whirlpool of Blood (draft) -- no turnout at all. Likewise no one showed up for CIA or speed dueling. This was a far cry from last year, where the dueling tourney got about 10 players, the 100 Names - 4, and the Championship multiplayer game over 20.

I ran Fist demos Saturday and Sunday (11 a.m. to 1 pm.). I got one table (3 players) on Friday -- ably assisted by Dan Gravitch, another table on Saturday (2 12-year old and a 10-year old -- the oldest and youngest of which were girls) -- but no one on Sunday. Still 6 demo decks were given away, and a good time was had by the players (I think).
